Right now in July the Hummers are busy raising families. During this time the adults will feed their nestlings a high protein diet. That means they switch over to an insect diet for the duration.

Don’t worry, the flying circus will be back soon at the feeders, and they’ll have their youngsters along. For now continue to clean feeders on a regular basis. Hummers won’t use a feeder that has mold growing on it.
