Warbler Update – Dec 2, 06

I was worried about what the Yellow-rumped Warbler was going to eat. Today he has gotten quite an education. He’s learned to navigate the caged sunflower seed feeder and he has taken a liking to Peanut Butter! He has been eating a lot of sunflower seeds today and drinking from the bird bath.
It’s a great bird day here today. Lots of Goldfinches have come in along with some Pine Siskins. At one point the Warbler was feeding on one side of the Peanut Butter feeder and a Siskin was on the other side. We received about an inch of snow overnight and the winds are howling out of the northwest. The south side of the island is a good place to find sanctuary.
