Texan Visitor – June 5, 2006

Here is a picture of the famous White-wing Dove that was visiting Nelsons Resort last weekend. Several people saw him (I missed it), but the picture proves that he was indeed a reality. Brenda Pohlman took the picture and I love how she captured the essence of the north woods with the Norway Pine in the background. Very different habitat than Texas where he comes from. I am going to submit the photo to the Records Committee at the MN Ornithologists Union. As of last summer there had only been 7 recorded sightings of this bird in Minnesota. Pretty exciting huh?
