Pine Siskin – July 24, 2006

Yesterday I had a Pine Siskin at the thistle feeder. It was all alone and hungry. It seems like they just left the area, but it also seems too early for them to be around the feeders.

They are seeing a “Slaty-backed” Gull in Grand Marais. This is BIG news – this gull has wandered from northern Asia to the shores of Lake Superior. I wish I could drive over there – it doesn’t sound far, but it would take me about 4 hours to get there. You never know, I just might do it. Would it be worth another tick on my Minnesota List?
