Phoebes Fledged

Tammy from the AmericInn in Orr sent me this picture.  

“Thought you’d get a kick out of this picture.  It was fledging day for our little Phoebes, but they weren’t ready to split up just yet. Cute, Huh?”

You can tell these are young birds by their gapes, the yellow by the corners of their beaks. Baby birds have accentuated mouths – maybe so the adult bird has a big target when feeding the youngsters.
