Last week as I was traveling down Highway 73 heading south to Chisholm and then Hibbing, I kept my eyes peeled as I passed Mile Marker 110. This is a magical place along the road where there is a great boggy area – it is just north of the township of Sturgeon. Lots of wonderful birds hang out here and I have seen many Great Gray Owls and Hawk Owls in this area. On this day there was a Rough-legged Hawk and I got a great look at a Northern_Goshawk. This highway is not well traveled so I can creep along at 40 mph and stop frequently without being bothersome to other traffic. Check it out!
