This morning I made it out to the Vermilion River Gorge trail at 5:30a.m. The warblers are really moving into the area early this year. This morning I heard and saw these “First of Year” birds:
- Nashville Warbler
- Northern Parula
- Ovenbird
- Black & White Warbler
Other birds of note:
- Winter Wren
- Gray Jay
- Broad-wing Hawk
- Turkey Vulture (sitting in tree in woods and vocalizing)
- Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
- White-throated Sparrow
- Evening Grosbeaks
And also on Monday there was a Yellow-headed Blackbird mixed in with the Red-wing Blackbirds and Grackles.
