Canada Warbler

Canada Warbler singing at the Vermilion River Gorge Hiking Trail.

This Warbler is famous for being heard, but not being seen. They skulk in the thick underbrush where they build their nests on the ground. Notice the chip note before the jumble of birdsong. Some have said the call isĀ an outburst and can’t be described. I always think of it as: chip, chippity dip, chippity dip. But as you can hear on the above video that description is negotiable.
