Today I looked up from my desk and was surprised to see a Pine Marten! They have visited the suet feeder before, but it is usually under the darkness of night. What a thrill to see this beautiful animal in full daylight.
He was gorging himself on the ample supply of beef suet. Pine Martens hunt Red Squirrels and after he was done at the feeder, the Marten took off through the trees and I could see how agile he was. The Red Squirrels don’t have a chance with this guy around!
