34 degrees and counting – Sept 9, 2006

This lake this morning is shrouded in fog, thick fog. I can’t see across to the other side, but as I was making coffee I heard two boats out on the lake going wide open. I guess they feel there wouldn’t be any other folks out there in the thick fog. A Hummingbird was at the feeder, he was all puffed up in the cold air. I keep my feeders fresh and out there until I know there won’t be any Hummers coming through – this can be til the end of September. Then again, maybe I’ll get one of those western vagrants.
